Ever look around at the world and wish it were a better place? Ever get the urge to do something about it? Yeah, us too.
Manhattan Young Democrats seeks to educate, empower, and encourage young people to get involved in the political process to affect change in the world. In 2006, young people accounted for nearly 1/5th of the voting population, setting a new record; by 2015 we'll make up 1/3rd. This year, young people are coming out to the national polls in numbers never before seen, but we need to remember that all politics is local. Even though this is Manhattan, there are still battles to be fought.
We're raising money, training our members, and sending them out to campaign in districts that have been red for too long. You can help. All you have to do is stand up and let your voice be heard.
We invite you to come see what we're all about: we have monthly happy hours on the first Thursday, we have bi-monthly general meetings at the State Democratic Headquarters on the 3rd Thursday, and we fill in the rest of the time with campaign and community service events. Look for them under the 'Events' link above and sign-up for our newsletter.
